One with fantastic landscape, this Indian dessert town in the Himalayas is the capital of Ladakh in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.


Entry was shut down during the Sino-Indian war. When the border was opened for outsiders in 1974, Leh has begun to attract traders and travelers. Now it is one of popular tourist destinations in India.


Attractions include Pangong Lake, the Leh Palace and Shanti Stupa.
